Flat flame burners

This type of burner also uses the irradiation process to heat materials; flames do not lap the material but stick to the furnace walls where the burners are installed (flat flames). These burners are also installed onto the roof of the furnace.

Radiant roof burners guarantee maximum temperature uniformity especially when used in furnaces with widths exceeding 12 metres. The swirl imposed by high combustion air speed in the combustion chamber ensures not only high turndown but also a powerful flue gas recirculation and a consequent reduction in flame temperature and NOx emissions.

As for lateral applications, a flameless version was developed; this guarantees reductions in excess of 50% in NOx emissions from 300 to 110 mg/Nm3 @ 3% (1250°C furnace temperature). These burners are fed with pre-heated air and gaseous or oil-based fuels using a power, which ranges between 200 and 1200 kW.

The burners can also be equipped with an automatic flame control system using U.V. cells and with automatic pilot burners for cold start-up.
